How to refresh SNIP and SJR data
Administrators and Category Admins for the Journal category can upload SNIP and SJR data to Elements. This can be done from the ‘Manage journal data’ page at Menu > System Admin > [DATA CATEGORY SETTINGS] > Journals (V6.n Category Admin > Journals > Journal Lists) by uploading a CSV file to the ‘Manage SJR data’ and ‘Manage SNIP data’ sections on this page.
SNIP and SJR data can be downloaded from source and refreshed at any time. This means that Clients do not need to upgrade Elements in order to refresh SNIP and SJR data. The last time new SNIP / SJR data was provided via an update was in Elements v5.14 (2017 scores).

It is advised that technically skilled users are tasked with downloading, cleaning and uploading SNIP and SJR data to Elements as some data cleaning will likely be required. NB: The upload will fail if there are any issues with the format of the CSV file itself and the data currently in Elements will not be affected. Further, due to presence of historical data missing fields, when carrying out an initial export of SNIP and SJR data, not all records will be exported to the CSV.
While a record can be modified it cannot be deleted. Extreme care should therefore be taken when adding SNIP and SJR data to Elements.
There are a number of things to consider when preparing the CSV for upload;
The CSV must conform to the structure described.
The CSV must be in the correct format - this may require correctly escaping symbols such as quotations (“).
For SJR data values in the ‘ISSN value’ column must be unique.
For SNIP data values in the ‘Scopus ID’ column must be unique.
For the SJR CSV there should be one ISSN per row. If a data source contains two joined ISSNs (e.g. e-ISSN and p-ISSN) this field must be split and separated across two rows.
