Implementation: Planning your Discovery Module "roll out"
Sample video and script
A successful roll out of Discovery is key to gaining engagement with Elements and building familiarity for staff who will have a public profile, commonly they will have control over the majority of the data shown on the Discovery Module. For this reason it is helpful to include a simple but effective video to help people understand how Elements data interacts with Discovery and what they might want to review and update periodically.
To help with this there is a short video below and the accompanying script that was used to create the main points for the video.
Please note: you should not simply send this video out to your organisation as every Discovery instance is different and the aim of providing this, is simply to give you a sample to work from which you can tailor according to your configurations. For example, label schemes are commonly pre-populated to reduce the workload but these should be checked and updated by the individual where appropriate.
If you have any feedback on the video or script, please raise a support ticket for the attention of Nick.
Encourage faculty/researchers to share their new Discovery URL publicly
It is common for people with a Discovery Module profile to have other online profiles as well. One aspect that supports SEO in a very positive way is inbound links to the Discovery module profile pages. Try to encourage users to add a link to their profile on any other profile or social media sites.
