RFS 6.19 release notes
In this release of the Elements Research Funding Solution (RFS), we are pleased to introduce enhancements to closure functionality, bringing all closure behaviour together, enabling consistent capture, reporting, and insights, better helping research administrators and managers understand funding record closure behaviour and reasons.
Pre-activation Proposal Closure
A new solution for Project closure was introduced in v6.14, including the ability to record closure reasons and notes.
We are expanding aspects of this closure functionality in this release to pre-activation Proposals, ensuring that you and your administrators:
Are able to consistently capture closure metadata (reasons and notes), regardless of where in the Management Console closure is triggered
Consistently have all closure metadata visible and/or editable in the Management Console after closure
Have all closure metadata available for querying via the RFS API and Elements reporting database
This functionality brings all closure behaviour together, enabling consistent capture, reporting, and insights, better helping research administrators and managers understand funding record closure behaviour and reasons.
We have also updated the following stock reports to ensure the inclusion of all pre-activation closure metadata, beyond just Withdrawal reasons and notes:
Funding opportunity activity - by funding record managing group
Funding opportunity activity - by PI primary group
Funding proposal statuses - managing group
Funding proposal statuses - PI primary group
Funding project statuses - managing group
Funding project statuses - PI primary group
All funding records
Bug fixes and other improvements
Process errors screen
The 'Process errors' screen is now visible to Research Funding Administrators and Research Funding Data Administrators, enabling users to directly investigate submission failures without having to contact Elements Support.
Reviewer selection
When allocating a reviewer, the drop-down list of names is now presented in alphabetical (last name) order.
Improved search function for Proposal forms
The Manage forms > Proposal forms screen in the Management Console has been updated to support filtering results by more criteria, including:
Funding Opportunity
Proposal form template (Form type)
Proposal status
Proposal outcome
Configuration type
Timezone improvements
We have resolved some on-screen datetime inconsistencies to ensure your instance's configured timezone is accurately reflected. These include the following in the Management Console:
Audit page
Forms designer audit
'Grant History' pop-up on the Funding Record details page
'Created on' date on the Funding Record details page
Contract history in the 'Contracts and activation' page of the Funding Record
The pre-submission Proposal form audit available to project team members from the Proposal Details page has also been updated to reflect your configured timezone.
Additional improvements and bug fixes
In the Forms Designer in the Management Console, a new 'Document type' column has been added in the Summary > Attachments page, making it easier to view the form configuration at a glance, rather than navigating to each attachment control separately to check the document type.
We have resolved an issue on test / dev sites where emails were not sending successfully (if emails enabled).
