How to request custom work from us
We offer a number of services that you can purchase from us, that typically fall into one of these categories:
Custom Reports (formatted SSRS, data extracts, dashboards)
Custom Data modifications (SQL or API)
Note: As we always have ongoing custom work, we recommend that you request it early, to make sure that it is scheduled accordingly.
Note: The ability to design custom dashboards or write custom data extracts requires a licence to the Analytics Module. A Core licence is sufficient for designing custom formatted reports.
How to request custom work
These are the stages involved
Request: Create a ticket (here) or email support@symplectic.co.uk, with your request.
Specify: Provide initial requirements and examples of reports, if you have any.
Initial Estimate: We will provide an initial estimate based on the information available at this point, and will inform you of any Support Hours that you have available.
Approve: If you approve the initial estimate, we can proceed, on the proviso that
We use existing Support Hours (if you want to spend available Support Hours)
You purchase new Support Hours (if you don't have available Support Hours)
Finalise Requirements: Our Technical Services team will work with you on refining the requirements, and will inform you if this changes the initial estimate.
Schedule: Once the requirements have been agreed, we will schedule the work required.
Deliver: We rely on your prompt testing of the custom work to meet the agreed schedule.
Guide to initial estimates
To give you a ballpark idea of cost, we estimate that:
A custom CV (or paginated report) without custom publications citations is estimate to require 20 Support Hours - there are exceptions where the report is complicated or long
A custom CV (or paginated report) with custom citations is estimated to require between 30 and 40 Support Hours.
A data extract is estimate to require between 1 and 4 Support Hours, depending on the complexity.
Terms
All custom work undertaken by Digital Science is subject to the Ongoing maintenance of Elements customisations and custom integrations and the Symplectic Elements Service Level Agreement.
