Unit-level scoreset override
Released : 5.19
Unit-level scoreset override
You can use the Unit-level scoreset override functionality to implement Unit-specific scoresets. You may find this functionality useful if you are migrating exercise definitions into a single REF exercise definition where the original exercise definitions employ multiple scoresets and there is a desire to retain these. It also offers you the ability to model scores in different ways for different Units.
Notes on scoreset overrides:
only those scores selected for the Unit will be available to reviewers for selection
therefore, it is assumed that the researcher has been assigned to the appropriate Unit
if there are two co-authors of the same output in the same group but different Units, the reviewer will be presented with separate scores to select from (if the scoreset configurations for those Units are different)
overrides are also applied to the Overall scoreset values available in the Unit
multiple scoresets (each with their own overrides) are supported
To introduce this functionality, you must first create a 'master' scoreset for the exercise that includes all scores you wish to use across the institution. Go to Module admin > Exercise definitions > [Exercise definition] > Scoresets tab.
Once the master scoreset is created, you then need to go into each Unit and select which scores you wish to make visible in each Unit. Navigate to the Unit tab and select Overrides next to the Unit you wish to configure.
Then select 'Score visibility'.
You will then be shown all scoresets that are enabled in the exercise definition. You can override as many scoresets as you wish.
Un-select those scores you do not wish to be displayed for the Unit in question, and Save the override.
Reviewers of content in this Unit will then only be presented with those scores that have been enabled for the Unit.
And if you have selected the Master scoreset as your Overall scoreset for REF, only those scores enabled for the Unit will be available for selection.
