RFS 6.18 release notes

In this release of the Elements Research Funding Solution (RFS), we are pleased to introduce enhancements to  Relationships functionality, helping Management Console users manage the creation of sub-grants.

We have introduced a new 'Funding record summary' table on the 'Create new related funding record' screen, to give users visibility of key properties of the parent funding record (e.g. end date, PI, etc.).  This will be particularly useful for Extensions, where the end date of the parent is now more prominent, making it easier to provide an accurate start date for the extension.

It is now possible to modify the Managing Group of the sub-grant at the point of creation (it has always been possible to modify post-creation).  If you would like this configuration enabled for any of your relationship types, please get in touch.

We have updated the 'Select target grant' screen for Budget Transfers to only display direct parent / child relationships, saving you from having to first filter the list down to relevant related funding records.  Budget transfers are now only supported between directly related funding records.

• We have introduced a new Proposal configuration type of 'Initial Expression of Interest', enabling support for 3-stage funding rounds (Initial EOI > EOI > full Proposal).  Further details on multi-stage proposals are available here.

• The Proposal form audit is now available to Management Console users for pre-submission (i.e. Draft) proposals (this was previously only available for post-submission proposals).

• We have resolved some on-screen datetime inconsistencies to ensure your instance's configured timezone is accurately reflected. These include:

  • ‘Last updated on’ on the Console Proposal and Project Details pages

  • ‘Last Run’ on the Data Import & Export > Integrations > Export Profiles page

  • List of returns on the Proposal > Return page

• We have improved duplicate handling in legacy migration organisation imports.

• The Forms Designer in the Management Console has been updated:

  • Two new validation warnings have been added:

    • If a Proposal form is configured without an offline document of type 'Application form'

    • If a Grid control has been added to a PDF definition, but all controls in the Grid have been makred as 'Hide in PDF'

  • Controls that save to a dynamic field are now listed on the form definition Summary > Identifiers tab, in addition to any fields tagged with a Reporting ID

  • An issue with the formatting of Grid totals in PDFs has been resolved
