Relationships
The Award Management module's relationships functionality enables the creation of related projects (aka sub-grants) for specific funding scenarios, namely:
Extensions
Distributed budgets (with associated budget transfer functionality)
Additional internal contributions
Additional external contributions
Sub-contracting
When creating a related project (or sub-grant), you are creating a child of the existing parent project, copying many of the properties of the parent to the child (with options available).
Upon creation, a sub-grant exists in Awards Management as its own entity (with a specific relationship to the parent). A sub-grant can be managed in the Management Console in the same way as any other funding record, is included in the API, and can be reported upon in Elements.
Note that multi-stage proposals (e.g. EOI > full proposal) are automatically linked together as 'Linked' funding records.
